Hilton is running a major promotion for its Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card, but the offer ends on Monday, September 7. This is the largest offer seen since the cards launched nearly two years ago.
The sign-up bonus of 50,000 Hilton Honors points is valued at more than the card's £150 annual fee. All other benefits, including up to 35 Elite Qualifying Nights and complimentary Hilton Honors Gold status, are additional. The report states it has "never been easier to earn Hilton Honors Diamond status" because a member would need only 15 actual hotel nights on top of the 35 potential card-earned nights to reach the 50-night requirement.
This special offer is not available to previous holders of the Plus card or those upgrading from the basic version. The card is linked to an applicant's existing UK current account, with transactions charged directly from it. Acceptance is not dependent on credit card holdings, income, or employment status, though a UK current account and a soft credit check are required.

As part of this limited-time promotion, applying for the Plus card also triggers an additional 5 EQNs when the £2,500 foreign currency spend target is met. This means a potential total of 35 EQNs from the card in a calendar year.
The card also offers competitive foreign exchange rates. The Plus card charges a 0.5% FX fee on top of the Currensea real-time rate, while the standard card charges 0.99%. Cardholders earn bonus points at higher rates for foreign currency spending and Hilton property spending.

How Elite Qualifying Nights accumulate
The 35 potential Elite Qualifying Nights from the card work in two parts. Five nights are awarded as part of the sign-up bonus upon meeting the £2,500 foreign currency spend. A further 30 nights can be earned at a rate of 5 nights per £5,000 of card spending during the calendar year.
These card-earned EQNs count toward Hilton's milestone bonuses. Members receive 10,000 bonus points for every 10 nights stayed starting at 40 nights, with an extra 30,000 points awarded at 60 nights. Therefore, EQNs from the card can help trigger these additional point bonuses. Hilton has reconfirmed to Head for Points that these nights also count toward the 1,000-night requirement for lifetime status.
Payments to HMRC can be made on the card for a 0.95% fee, and these transactions earn Hilton Honors points and count toward both EQN earnings and the annual renewal bonus. The card's design is minimalist, with all personal details on the back, and it functions as a direct debit from the user's linked current account.
