Park Plaza London Riverbank launches Dinosaur Family Suite
Park Plaza London Riverbank partners with the Natural History Museum to offer a family suite themed with a T. rex bunk bed and Cretaceous decor.

Park Plaza London Riverbank has launched a new Dinosaur Family Suite in partnership with London's Natural History Museum. The hotel says the suite is the centerpiece of a wider expansion of its family accommodation, which includes studios and suites for families of up to five.
Both the hotel and museum collaborated with graphic designer and illustrator Jon Powell at creative studio POW on the project. The aim was to combine creativity and education within a child-friendly hospitality environment. The suite's design focuses on prehistoric species, vegetation, fossils, and specimens.
Suite Design and Features
The interconnected two-guestroom suite is tailored for adults and children. The adult guestroom takes inspiration from a historical study, featuring maps, fossils, and collection details. A bookcase-style door leads from this room into the child's guestroom, which is themed around the Cretaceous period.
This child's room includes a bespoke Tyrannosaurus rex-inspired bunk bed. It also features floor-to-ceiling murals, moss-effect flooring, and various educational resources intended to support learning.
A Focus on Family Guests
Suat Binkaya, senior general manager at Park Plaza London Riverbank, stated that families are one of the hotel's fastest-growing guest segments. He noted that when families visit London, their main priority is making lasting memories together.
"The Natural History Museum Dinosaur Family Suite gives them a head start on that from the moment they check in," Binkaya told Hotel Owner. "Working with the Natural History Museum’s experts and creative studio P-O-W, we’ve built a room that’s part of the adventure."
Museum's Licensing Strategy
For the Natural History Museum, this partnership fits into a broader strategy. Maxine Lister, head of licensing at the museum, explained that Location Based Experiences have been part of its licensing approach for several years.
"The next natural step was to partner with a like-minded hotel to create an experience that started at check-in, not just inside the room itself," Lister said. She credited Park Plaza's focus on authenticity and collaboration for the project's success.
The Dinosaur Family Suite is now available for booking. The launch builds upon the hotel's existing family-friendly offerings.
