Alaska Airlines has launched its October 2026 Atmos Rewards Global Getaways promotion, offering members savings of up to 50% on economy award tickets. The promotion, which moved from a quarterly to a monthly schedule, is valid for travel to six international cities between January 15 and March 8, 2027.

The offer went live on the first Wednesday of October, a day the program calls Atmos Members Day. This new monthly frequency comes with a tighter booking window. Members must book by October 10, 2026, to secure the discounted awards. Travel must originate in the United States, and the discounts apply to economy class redemptions only, excluding first, business, and premium economy cabins.

Savings are up to 50% off standard award pricing, though the exact discount varies. The reduced rates are generally valid on all partner airlines when saver-level award space exists. Flights may be operated by Alaska, Hawaiian, or partner carriers like Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines.

Destinations and pricing

Eligible one-way awards to the six winter destinations start at between 20,000 and 30,000 Atmos Rewards points. The specific starting prices for the confirmed cities are listed below.

DestinationOne-Way Award Starting Price
Helsinki, Finland (HEL)25,000 points
Sapporo, Japan (CTS)30,000 points
Seoul, South Korea (ICN)20,000 points

Other eligible cities are Munich, Germany (MUC); Paris, France (CDG); and Stavanger, Norway (SVG). Awards for these destinations also fall within the 20,000 to 30,000-point range.

Booking and travel rules

Bookings for the Global Getaways promotion must be completed by October 10, 2026. The travel window runs from January 15 through March 8, 2027. The theme for this winter sale is 'welcome to winter done right,' encouraging members to explore cities where winter is a main event.

These discounted awards follow standard Atmos Rewards change and cancellation policies. They are refundable at no cost, minus a partner award booking fee. That fee is $20 but can be waived for holders of the Summit Visa Infinite card. Taxes and fees start at $5.60 each way on Alaska-operated flights but can exceed $100 on partner itineraries. Stopovers are permitted, but award seat availability is limited and priced per specific route.

Program context and comparison

The shift to a monthly schedule is a notable change for Global Getaways. Each promotion is now launched on the first Wednesday of the month as part of Atmos Members Day, which delivers exclusive offers and updates via a dedicated member email. The program encourages members to update their communication preferences to receive these alerts and to follow the Atmos Rewards Instagram account.

Unlike similar promotions from Air France-KLM Flying Blue or Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, the Alaska Atmos Rewards offer applies exclusively to economy class travel on partner airlines.

Related Alaska Airlines updates

In other program news, Atmos Rewards members can now choose how they will earn points and status points for flights departing on or after January 1, 2027. The options are based on distance traveled, price paid, or segments flown. Current members who do not make a selection will continue to earn based on distance traveled. New members joining on or after January 1, 2027, will default to earning based on price paid. All members can change their earning choice once per calendar year.

Separately, Alaska Airlines has announced new seasonal nonstop service from Seattle to Paris, beginning May 25, 2027. Members can save up to 50% on award travel to Helsinki, Munich, Paris, Sapporo, Seoul, and Stavanger by booking through October 10, 2026.
