A limited-time offer for the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card provides 50,000 bonus points and up to 40 Elite Qualifying Nights

The Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card is offering a 50,000-point sign-up bonus and up to 40 Elite Qualifying Nights. This limited-time offer, ending on 14th December, provides a strategic shortcut for travelers aiming for Hilton Honors Diamond status in 2026 or 2027.

Cardholders receive instant Gold status upon approval, which is retained for as long as the account remains open. The Elite Qualifying Nights earned count toward Hilton Honors milestone bonuses and lifetime status requirements, which demand 1,000 nights and ten years of Diamond status. Milestone rewards include a 10,000-point bonus at 40 nights and a 30,000-point bonus at 60 nights.

Earning structure and elite night triggers

The sign-up bonus and elite night earnings are tied to specific spending tiers. The 50,000-point bonus is split: 10,000 points are awarded on first purchase, with the remaining 40,000 points granted after spending £2,500 in foreign currency within six months.

Elite Qualifying Nights are earned through a combination of the bonus and spending. The structure allows cardholders to earn up to 40 nights in the first year, with an annual cap resetting each January.

Earning MethodElite Qualifying Nights AwardedTrigger Condition
Sign-up Bonus10 nightsAwarded with the initial bonus.
Foreign Spend Bonus10 nightsSpend £2,500 in foreign currency within six months.
General SpendingUp to 30 nights per yearEarn 5 nights for every £5,000 spent.

The 10 bonus nights from the foreign currency spend are triggered when that £2,500 target is met. Careful timing of this spend can assign those nights to either the 2026 or 2027 status year. The card also earns points on all purchases, with higher rates at Hilton properties.

Fees, value, and eligibility

A £150 annual fee applies. However, the 50,000-point sign-up bonus alone is valued at more than this fee based on a common valuation of 0.33 pence per point, making the first year effectively free. The card also provides 10,000 bonus points annually upon renewal if £10,000 was spent in the previous year.

The card is a debit product, drawing funds directly from a linked UK current account with no APR. It requires a soft credit check but has no restrictions based on credit card holdings or income. The offer is not available to those who have previously held the Plus card or are upgrading from the basic version. Hilton stated, "This is the biggest offer we have seen since the cards launched almost two years ago."

Path to Diamond status and broader perks

The 40 Elite Qualifying Nights available cover 80% of the 50 nights required for Diamond status. This can reduce the number of actual hotel stays needed to as few as 10 nights. Diamond status typically requires 25 stays, 50 nights, or $11,500 in pre-tax spending at Hilton properties.

Beyond status acceleration, the card's attached Gold Elite status includes benefits like free breakfast for two people at participating hotels. The card also features a 0.5% foreign exchange fee on top of the Currensea real-time rate, which is lower than many standard card fees and comparable to wholesale rates. Multiple applications are allowed per phone, and the card can be linked to multiple cards from the same bank account.

Cardholders who meet the £2,500 foreign spend within six months trigger 10 bonus Elite Qualifying Nights, which can be applied to 2026 or 2027 depending on spend timing.
