IHG Chase Credit Card Changes 2027: New Fees, Elite Status
IHG and Chase are overhauling their cobranded credit card lineup, introducing a new premium card and adjusting fees and benefits on existing cards.

IHG and Chase are making major changes to their cobranded credit card lineup, adding new benefits, enhanced earning opportunities and more ways for cardholders to earn elite status. The refreshed IHG credit card lineup includes four cards, one brand-new, with annual fees ranging from $0 to $350, with the IHG Premier Select card positioned as the new flagship above the Premier card.
Premier card downgrades and fee increase
The annual fee for the IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card is increasing from $99 to $150, effective 2027. Starting that year, Premier Card holders will receive Gold Elite status along with 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year, replacing the previous automatic Platinum Elite status. Existing Premier cardholders will retain their Platinum Elite status through Dec. 31, 2027.
The Premier Card's anniversary free night redemption cap increases from 40,000 to 50,000 points. The card also offers up to $100 in annual food and beverage credit and a $100 annual airline statement credit valid through December 31, 2027. Spending $15,000 in a calendar year on the card earns Platinum Elite status, 5 more Elite Night Credits, and 15,000 bonus points.
New Premier Select card offers top-tier benefits
The new IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card has a $350 annual fee and is IHG's most premium credit card. It offers automatic Platinum Elite status, 20 Elite Night Credits each calendar year and an anniversary free night worth up to 60,000 points. The card provides up to $300 in annual IHG Food & Beverage Rewards, issued as $75 per quarter, and a $200 annual airline statement credit after spending at least $250 on flights booked directly with an airline through 2027.
The Premier Select card offers up to 28x total points per dollar spent on stays at IHG properties, including 12x from the card itself. It also earns 6x points per dollar on dining and all other travel, including rideshare. Spending milestones unlock further rewards. Spending $15,000 in a calendar year earns 5 more Elite Night Credits and 20,000 bonus points. Spending $25,000 yields IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status for the rest of that year and the entire following year. Spending $40,000 earns an additional free night at hotels costing up to 60,000 points. The card also offers up to $120 Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS application fee statement credit once every four years.
No-annual-fee and business card updates
The no-annual-fee IHG One Rewards Card, formerly the Traveler Credit Card, will retain its $0 annual fee. Cardholders will now receive 5 Elite Night Credits each calendar year. The spending requirement to earn Gold Elite status on this card is dropping from $20,000 to $15,000 in a calendar year. Starting in 2027, cardholders will need to spend $5,000 in a calendar year to unlock the fourth-night-free benefit on award stays.
The IHG One Rewards Business Credit Card annual fee increases from $99 to $200, taking effect in 2027. The Business Card maintains its automatic Platinum Elite status, but cardholders can earn Diamond Elite status by spending $40,000 on the card in a calendar year, increasing to $50,000 per year beginning Jan. 1, 2027. Its United TravelBank Cash benefit will be discontinued after Dec. 31, 2026. A spokesperson for the card stated, "The card now has a $100 annual Expensify credit, which can be used across one or multiple transactions."
Across the portfolio, grocery stores are a new bonus category on several cards. Utilities, internet, cable, and phone services, and streaming purchases will no longer earn at an elevated rate for transactions posted after Dec. 31, 2026. Many of the new and enhanced benefits take effect Oct. 1, though some have specific timing or eligibility requirements. Existing cardmembers will be informed of changes in October 2026, with new fees and benefits applying in 2027.
