Saudi Arabia's Hotel Expo Returns with Tourism Ministry

The Hotel & Hospitality Expo Saudi Arabia is set to return to Riyadh from 15 to 17 September 2026. The Ministry of Tourism will act as the Strategic Partner for the event, which will be held at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center.

According to the Ministry of Tourism's own data, the hospitality sector is in a phase of significant expansion. A Q1 2026 report noted more than 6,120 licensed accommodation facilities regulated by the Ministry, offering approximately 616,000 licensed rooms. The number of licensed hotels specifically reached nearly 3,000, with hotel rooms exceeding 500,000.

Preliminary tourism figures for the same quarter were also strong. The total number of domestic and inbound tourists reached an estimated 37.2 million. Their total spending amounted to roughly SAR 82.7 billion.

A Platform for a Booming Market

The expo is positioned as a direct response to this growth. It will connect manufacturers and suppliers with hotel operators, developers, and procurement professionals. Attendees can source products across a wide range of categories essential for hotel operations and development.

Elaine O’Connell, Vice President of the Design and Hospitality Division at event organizer dmg events, linked the event's timing to the sector's momentum. "Saudi Arabia’s hospitality sector is experiencing exceptional growth, driven by an expanding hotel development pipeline and continued growth in visitor numbers," she said. She described the expo as a key platform for building partnerships and exploring new solutions.

Exhibitors and Event Features

The exhibition floor will be divided into dedicated zones showcasing products and solutions. Key areas include hotel operating equipment, hospitality technology, foodservice, furniture, bedding, and textiles. Two featured destinations are the returning SaudiHost section and a new area called CoffeeZone.

A number of companies are already confirmed as exhibitors. They span various sectors of the supply chain.

CoffeeZone will cater specifically to coffee professionals and cafe operators. It will also host the Saudi Arabia Barista Championship 2026. The national winner will earn the right to represent the country at the World Barista Championship in Panama.

Supporting Events and Co-location

Beyond the exhibition, the event will host the Hospitality Leaders’ Summit. This forum will gather professionals from government, tourism, and hospitality. The Hotel & Hospitality Awards, which recognize excellence across hospitality, restaurants, cafés, and tourism, will also be presented.

The hotel expo will be co-located with INDEX Saudi Arabia, an interior design exhibition. Organizers state this reflects the connected nature of Saudi Arabia's development landscape, where design, interiors, and hotel operations increasingly intersect. For hotel developers and designers, the combined event offers a broader opportunity to discover products and engage with suppliers supporting the Kingdom's transformation under Vision 2030.

Nasr Alansari, Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Tourism, framed the partnership as part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to support sector growth. He said it aims to enhance the integration of the tourism ecosystem through specialized platforms that bring key stakeholders together.
