WorldHotels rebrands and merges loyalty programs
BWH Hotels is rebranding as WorldHotels and merging its Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards loyalty programs into a single three-tier scheme, effective January 5, 2027. The new WorldHotels Rewards program will combine approximately 70 million members, eliminate point expiration, and streamline a portfolio of over 4,000 hotels.

WorldHotels has announced a rebrand from BWH Hotels and will merge its two loyalty schemes into one global program on January 5, 2027. The new WorldHotels Rewards program combines the existing Best Western Rewards and WorldHotels Rewards, uniting roughly 70 million members under a simplified three-tier structure.
The group rebranding took effect, with WorldHotels now serving as the parent company and marketing consortium for the entire portfolio. The company owns the WorldHotels grouping of around 300 properties, similar to consortia like Preferred Hotels. The full WorldHotels website launched on October 27, 2026, with a redesigned app and complete web integration set for January 5, 2027.
Loyalty Program Features
Points in the new WorldHotels Rewards program will never expire, and members will retain the value of all points already earned. The program reduces the number of membership tiers from five to three, with specific tier mapping to be announced on November 16, 2026. Members will keep their current elite status during the transition, with new tier assignments revealed on December 14, 2026.
Status matching from other hotel loyalty programs will continue. The program will also introduce more opportunities to earn points across the hotel portfolio and offer Milestone Rewards of bonus points at 10 nights and 20 nights stayed.
Portfolio and Brand Changes
The rebranding and program merger address stagnant brand perception while competitors expand. For instance, Hilton added over 1,000 hotels in 2025. The consolidation includes closing two boutique conversion brands, Sadie and Vīb, which are being retired or moved to the Aiden brand.
The WorldHotels entity now encompasses more than 4,000 hotels across 18 brands in over 100 countries. Its luxury and upscale hotel brands are now part of the WorldHotels Collection, which is divided into six categories.
Card and Program Timeline
Best Western Rewards Visa Signature credit cards will become WorldHotels Visa Signature cards in January 2027, retaining the same benefits including fast-track elite status. The company's Chief Marketing Officer noted the rationale for the change, stating, "Our portfolio has expanded, but the traveler perception didn’t evolve with it."
Full program details, including tier names, earning rates, and redemption rates, will be announced on November 16, 2026. That announcement will finalize the details for the new WorldHotels Rewards program ahead of its January 2027 launch.
